A big thank you to everyone who visited over the last week, it was a pleasure seeing old faces and meeting some new Koi keepers for the first time. Koi trade has been brisk and I know we are going to have a good year. The weather has been amazing and fingers crossed set to continue over Easter! I am working flat out to update the website and it currently has a selection of the larger Koi on display. More will be uploaded soon but  the listings are somewhat time consuming to create so it has to be completed in batches. Summer growth food is now back in stock and you will find  we are well stocked up on the ever popular Nishi Koi and Yamatsu ranges.  Our our own Premium Koi Food is both high quality and tremendous value for money. Such is our conviction to this product we are now feeding all our stocks on premium food.    Premium food contains all the essential vitamins and minerals that your fish need to be healthy and thrive.   Whilst in the store pick up a pack of our supplementary food. The ideal product to improve, enrich and vary your fishes diet. Our ready mixed blend contains river shrimps, mealworms and silkworm pupa. River shrimps are high in keratin, a protein that is wonderful for the skin. They help to develop the Koi’s colour. Mealworms are a tasty treat for Koi, full of minerals, vitamins and edible oils. Silkworm pupa contain a tremendous of amount natural proteins ideal for supercharging the growth of your fish.  Over the last few years our selection of pipework and fittings has been steadily growing. You will not find a more complete selection of various bits and pieces all laid out for you to rummage through. Not sure exactly what you need then we are here to help! We stocked a large range of solvent weld pressure pipe and fittings. Our selection includes 3/4″, 1″, 11/4″, 11/2″, 2″, 3″, 4″ and 110mm.  The range of flexible fittings, hose and clips is equally impressive. We have almost every size of pipe you could ever need. We stock hose tails, back nuts, barbed connectors and valves. Rubber boot fittings are also very popular. They are simple to install and can accommodate a wide diameter range of pipe sizes. They do not need gluing and can be separated easily.  At JWG they are all laid out on racks for you to inspect, connect up and piece together.    Building your own filter system can be a cost effective and rewarding DIY project but you are likely to need specialist Tank connectors, valves and other bits and pieces that are rarely found at a plumbers merchants.     Our stock also includes domestic solvent weld pipe and fittings. 40mm, 50mm and 110mm. Along with an assortment of push fit waste pipe fittings.    We often have customers who are not pond our aquarium enthusiasts. Whether you are out to fix a leaking sink in a caravan, build a sump for a marine system or just need a few bits for your pond we have it covered! Spring is the perfect time to replace your Ultra Violet lamps. Even if the lamp is illuminating if it is more than about 6 months old it will no longer be emitting UV light.   Next time your in the store you might want to pick up a new UV lamp. The UV lamp is helping to keep your pond water looking sharp and clear of green water algae. They should be replaced every season as the lamps stop emitting the required ultra violet light.   There is a huge selection of sizes available and our range is extensive. To help ensure you get the correct lamp it is always a good idea to make a note of your UV make and model or bring in your old lamp. Take great care removing the lamps as the glass sleeves around them are very fragile. Have you tried PurePond the treatment that maintains crystal clear and healthy water. Pure Pond are biodegradable balls, crammed full of live bacteria that are slowly released when they are needed most. With over 8,000,000,000 bacteria per litre of Pure Pond Balls, your pond will shine even more than normal, especially if you add them monthly into the K1 moving bed media, or into any other type of filter you may have. When you introduce the Pure Pond balls into the biological chamber of your Nexus, they become one with the moving bed, agitating alongside the K1 media, just waiting to smooth out any peaks and troughs of the Ammonia/Nitrite cycle. The Pure Pond balls also contain natural enzymes which will help to breakdown organic waste, leaving your pond with healthier, crystal clear water.
