Growth fish food contains a high level of protein to help develop your fish. Good quality fish food will contain animal based proteins as opposed to the cheaper vegetable based proteins contained in less expensive fish feeds. It may also contain colour enhancing additives and high levels of vitamin c.

Growth food should not be used at low temperatures. It is best suited to the warmer months when the fish are active and feeding vigorously. It is at this time that your fish benefit from the extra proteins and there digestion can cope with the richness food.
