As we move from winter into spring our fish will become more active they will wake up and start feeding more.
Give your pond a spring clean. Run a vacuum or siphon over the pond base. This will lift any sediment that has accumulated over winter and keep your water looking sharp.
It’s a good idea to check the filter over and give it a rinse out with fresh pond water. Remove any excess sediment and clean or replace soiled sponges.
To help refresh the biomass in the filter a pond bomb or bio supplement is useful.

I know everyone is just as excited as I am to get the new season underway. It will only be a week or so before we are opening up the ponds for retail sales.
Last week we took delivery of our second shipment of Koi. The shipment was massive, our van was far to small for this one and we needed a lorry!
This year we will have a great selection of high quality, excellent value Koi. Lots more news to follow soon.
It has been said many times before and it goes something like this “We are not fish keepers we are water keepers.” or “Take care of the water and the fish will take care of themselves.”
But how do we know we have good water conditions?
We use a test kit to check the basics.
With an inexpensive kit you can spot a problem developing and take steps to correct it before it gets serious and effects the fish.
Don’t just assume it’s fine pick up a decent set next time your in the store.
Make sure you have joined the face book group and keep an eye out for exclusive offers open to group members.
This year more than ever I will be using the platform to keep everyone up to date.
More news coming soon.
