Did you know I have started a new series of YouTube videos. “The Black Chair”.
In these videos it is my aim to answer many of the questions we get asked at the store in an interesting and entertaining fashion.
We will also from time to time showcase some of the Koi by incorporating the pick of the day videos.
So far we have covered several subjects including choosing fish food, acclimatizing new Koi and what is carp pox.
If you would like to suggest some questions then please post them in the comment section and we will attempt to answer them soon as possible.
I know you are going to find these videos interesting so check them out.
A few weeks ago we received our third shipment of Koi for 2024. They are currently passing through our quarantine and will be available in approximately three weeks time.
The quarantine room was refurbished about 5 years ago and has been used extensively. I made as series of videos showing the construction process of our tanks and filter system.
If you missed them you will find them https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPXttkt40leXPQpMlabTL46iCqPkm7pWa here.
During this winter Stuart the builder and Matthew have been busy putting the finishing touches on the project. The roof has been lined with moisture resistant sheeting and the lighting has been completely replaced. A new heating system was also installed along with insulation in the walls and ceiling.
I know a lot of customers fish have suffered this winter. Lets be honest the weather has been shocking!
If your fish are not behaving as they should then they may have problems with parasites. The long winter coupled with disappointing up-down temperatures has gradually weakened the fishes natural immune system and left them susceptible.
If you need any assistance diagnosing a problem then we are always happy to speak on the phone or at the shop face to face. However you may not have realized we also offer site visits. Matthew is extremely knowledgeable and thorough.
Matthew can complete water tests, carry out fish mucus scrapes and suggest suitable treatments.
Thank you for reading this newsletter.
Take care everyone Lee.
